The feminist coalition is a group of young Nigerian feminists formed in July 2020 with a mission to champion equality for women in Nigerian society with a core focus on education, financial freedom and representation in public office. We have a vision for a Nigeria where equality for all people is a reality in our laws and everyday lives.

According to the World Bank, 95.1 million Nigerians live in extreme poverty — surviving on less than $1.90/NGN1,200 daily, whilst another 25% are vulnerable. The IMF goes on to say that women constitute over 60% of the poorest people in Nigeria, translating to over 57 million women living in extreme poverty..

Girls Education Program

The Feminist Coalition believes it is every girl’s right to access quality education. Women’s rights & safety is one of three pillars of our work and, undoubtedly, girls’ education is a space we are committed to working within, for the protection and advancement of Nigerian women. This is why we decided to start the Feminist Coalition Girls Education Program. An annual full scholarship & mentorship program for brilliant young girls from low-income backgrounds in Nigeria, whose largest barrier to a quality education is financial.

Christmas Food Drive

Food inflation in Nigeria is a huge problem. Figures were 17.38% in Oct 2020, up from 16.66% in Sept 2020 and core inflation at 11.14% in Oct 2020 from 10.58% in Sept 2020. This is why we wanted to help 1000 low-income women feed their households at Christmas.
